ATTENTION:  CO-OP DIRECTORS, CHILD NUTRITION DIRECTORS, ART AND HEALTH TEACHERS, CHAIRMAN DISTRICT NUTRITION AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMMITTEE

 

The Nutrition Committee of the Arkansas School Nutrition Association (ASNA), in collaboration with the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE), Child Nutrition Unit (CNU), is sponsoring a nutrition poster contest.  The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Nutrition Month theme for 2018 is "Go Further with Food,” this will also serve as the contest theme.

 

Awards for the 5 division winners at the state level will include a $50.00 cash prize and a trophy.  See the “Entry Form” for division breakdown by grades.  The Senior Division winner at the state level will receive a $300.00 scholarship and a trophy.

 

The instructor/art teacher of each state level division winner will receive an award of $100.00 to be used toward the purchase of classroom art supplies.

 

The Child Nutrition Manager at the school of each state level winner will receive paid ASNA dues for the year 2018. 

 

In order for district winners to be considered for state competition, the attached “Poster Contest Entry Form” must be completed and mailed or faxed to the ADE Child Nutrition Unit NO LATER THAN MONDAY, MARCH 12, 2018.  This district “Entry Form” is required to ensure that all district level winning posters are received prior to judging.

 

Posters entered in the state competition should be delivered to the Child Nutrition office by Monday, MARCH 26, 2018.  All posters must be delivered by mail or delivery service to the Child Nutrition Unit where they will be judged.  Posters will NOT be picked up at the Educational Cooperatives.

 

*With technology being a huge part of our daily lives and to promote all medium types of art, the poster contest this year will accept computer generated art for the competition for all grade levels.  Participation of computer generated art in this year’s contest will be used to determine future categories for different art mediums in future competitions.  A copy of the Poster Contest Rules and an Entry Form are attached.

 

Prizes and awards will be presented during the month of May.
