Memo Text

The Arkansas Department of Education is pleased to offer 2018-2019 equipment and materials grants for Advanced Placement courses approved by the College Board. A grant may be requested for any College Board-approved Advanced Placement course being taught at a high school that has not recently received a grant for the course.  Since funds are limited, priority will be given to courses in the four core areas of math, science, social studies, and English; and for new AP courses which have not been offered before at the school. Grant awards will be for a maximum of $1,000 each. For the purpose of this funding opportunity, “materials” are defined as instructional items (books, manipulatives, etc.) and “equipment” as any necessary device (graphing calculators, Ipads, etc.), directly related to the curriculum of College Board Advanced Placement course(s) offered in Arkansas public schools. Districts are encouraged to spend AP Incentive money received for scores of 3 or higher to provide materials and equipment for AP courses before requesting grant money.

This online application must be submitted to the Arkansas Department of Education on or before October 1, 2018, and can be accessed at the following link:

Grant applicants will be notified by October 15th about the grant awards. In order to receive the reimbursement grants, documentation of proof of payment (paid invoices) must be submitted to the ADE Office of Gifted & Talented and AP by December 14, 2018.

Pre-Advanced Placement courses are not included in this grant opportunity.
