On September 30, 2019, the Commission for Arkansas Public School Academic Facilities and Transportation (CAPSAFT) released the following rules for public comment:  

  • Appendix "A," Section 8000, to the CAPSAFT Rules Governing the Academic Facilities Partnership Program.

In a Commissioner's Memo dated October 24, 2019 (COM-20-053), the Division of Public School Academic Facilities and Transportation notified that Section 8000 was being released for public comment, with a cutoff date of November 26, 2019.  As a result of requests to the DPSAFT that the public comment period be extended, it has been extended until 4:30 p.m. on December 31, 2019.  Public comments may be emailed to ADE.RulesComments@arkansas.govPublic comments also may be mailed to:  Division of Elementary and Secondary Education, Office of Legal Services, Four Capitol Mall, Room 301A, Little Rock, AR  72201  The proposed rules are attached to this memo, and also may be found online at http://dese.ade.arkansas.gov/divisions/legal/rules/pending.  

 

Please recognize that Section 8000 is only one section of the Arkansas Public School Academic Facility Manual.  Readers may wish to refer to other sections of the manual, including the introduction in Section 1000, to place Section 8000 in context.  Section 1000 also discusses how the facility manual is organized.  If you have any questions about how to review Section 8000 in context of the overall Manual, you may contact the DPSAFT at (501) 682-4261.  

 

Again, public comment on these proposed rules will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. on December 31, 2019.
