The K-2 assessment selection process will reopen for each Arkansas school district with K-2 enrollment for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year. Each district will choose from the State Approved List and will have a FOUR year commitment to use the assessment of their choice.
Arkansas K-2 Assessment State Approved List
The K-2 assessments on the state approved list for 2020-2021 will be the following:
- Curriculum Associates: i-Ready
- Istation: ISIP
- NWEA: MAP Growth
- Renaissance: STAR
2020 K-2 Assessment Vendor Fair
On March 5, 2020, the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) will host an optional, one-day K-2 assessment vendor fair. The vendor fair will be held at the Hot Springs Convention Center located at 134 Convention Blvd., Hot Springs, AR, 71901. The vendor fair will begin at 8:30 am and conclude around 3:30 pm.
While attendance at this vendor fair is not a requirement, any district that is interested in exploring the different K-2 assessment options is encouraged to attend. Districts will be permitted to bring a team of up to three individuals to attend the vendor fair. Individuals/teams are not required to attend all four sessions. However, each attendee will need to register for the vendor fair and bring event tickets with them. Registration information can be accessed here.
Open Enrollment Required Action
The Superintendents of all public school districts and charter schools with K-2 enrollment will need to submit their K-2 assessment choices to the Office of Student Assessment by Friday, May 1, 2020. The Google form used to indicate the desired K-2 assessment choice can be accessed here.
