The Arkansas State Board of Education approved providing districts the option to administer PSAT/NMSQT at grade 10 using state at-risk funding as allowed by Act 989. Any district or charter school may elect to administer this test in the fall in addition to the required ACT Aspire in the spring.
Districts that elect to administer PSAT/NMSQT under this approval will agree to administer the test to all students able to test in grade 10 and at no cost to the student. The PSAT/NMSQT will be administered on October 14, 2020. The assessment will be funded by the Arkansas Department of Education Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (ADE DESE).
The ADE DESE is requesting that the superintendent in each public school district or charter school with grade 10 complete a short survey indicating whether they will elect to administer PSAT/NMSQT next school year. The survey may be accessed here.
Please complete only one survey per district by April 3, 2020. Districts or charter schools that do not reply by COB April 3rd will not be included in the state contract for the 2020-2021 PSAT/NMSQT administration.
The state contract does not impact schools that choose to administer the PSAT/NMSQT to a small number of students in grades 10 and/or 11 at the student’s expense. Students in grade 11 will not be eligible for this state agreement.
