Memo Text

Qualifying high school students may be eligible to enroll in concurrent courses and be covered by the new Arkansas Concurrent Challenge Scholarship Act (Act 456 of 2019).  The scholarship is funded by excess Arkansas Lottery proceeds.

The Arkansas Concurrent Challenge Scholarship will award eligible high school students $125 per course for up to two concurrent credit courses per semester.  Only high school students who are classified as a Junior or Senior qualify. The attached eligibility chart and powerpoint provide useful information in determining eligibility.  High school counselors or local college advisors can provide more information for student and course eligibility.  There is no individual student application.  High schools are working in partnership with their local colleges to identify eligible students.

Please see linked memo COM-18-002 to review the provisions for free and reduced lunch eligible students receiving up to six hours of concurrent credit.  These are separate programs.
