The Division of Elementary and Secondary Education with Arkansas Department of Education has collaborated with ArkansasPBS/ArkansasIDEAS and is pleased to share the Professional Licensure Standards Board Code of Ethics for Arkansas Educators: Ethical Scenarios in Education (2020) Course: ERC20059 Credit Hours: 1

 Arkansas law mandates that everyone with a valid Arkansas teaching license and all educators teaching under an Act 1240 waiver, as well as all pre-service teachers, are required to abide by the Code of Ethics for Arkansas Educators.

In this course, you will be able to view scenarios based on actual cases that have gone before the Professional Licensure Standards Board ethics subcommittee and learn what standards were violated in each situation, as well as what sanctions were recommended due to the violations.

The purpose of this interactive training course is to enhance all educators' understanding of the Standards of the Code of Ethics for Arkansas Educators.

 The Code of Ethics for Arkansas Educators assist current and prospective educators in becoming knowledgeable of how their professional decision making affects the well-being and safety of all students and colleagues while supporting the culture and mission of their school and the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education. 

 The Code of Ethics for Arkansas Educators holds educators accountable to the highest standards of professionalism both inside and outside the classroom.

 The Professional Licensure Standards Board values the integrity of educators and their contributions to ensuring every student graduates prepared for college, career, and community engagement.
