High Reliability Schools

SEPTEMBER 24, 2020

9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 – General Overview – Morning Session

BYOD – “Bring your own data” – Afternoon Session

The Division of Elementary and Secondary Education is committed to provide support to schools and districts as they prepare and plan to be a highly effective school using the High Reliability Schools framework.  “The High Reliability Schools framework shows how best practices work together and provides indicators to empower districts and schools to measure their progress on attaining five increasing levels of reliability:” (Marzano Resources, 2018)

Level 1 – Safe, Supportive, and Collaborative Culture

Level 2 – Effective Teaching in Every Classroom

Level 3 - Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum

Level 4 – Standards-Referenced Reporting

Level 5 – Competency-Based Reporting

Dr. Shelley Gies, Marzano Research Associate, will be giving a general overview session for Levels 1-3 during the morning session.

Level 1 and Level 2 surveys were offered in 2019-2020 school year and the results were released to your Digital Locker.  Using your results, virtually work with Dr. Gies, in setting priorities and collecting evidence for each indicator during the afternoon session. Breakout chat rooms will be set up for districts working with their team.

Beginning in October, the surveys are again offered by the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education for Level 1 and Level 2.  In addition, the option for districts and schools to administer Level 3 surveys is available during the same time.
