Memo Text
Governor Asa Hutchinson has proclaimed the week of February 1-5, 2021 as National School Counselor Week in Arkansas to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within the U.S. school system and how students are different as a result of what they do. National School Counseling Week highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students meet their college and career aspirations.
The Governor encourages our citizens to recognize school counselors employed in public and private schools throughout Arkansas for their significant contributions to our children's futures.
To help you promote National School Counseling Week, the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) has developed many materials and documents, a number of which are free. You can access these resources at the ASCA website - https://www.schoolcounselor.org/Events-Professional-Development/Events/National-School-Counseling-Week. Please consider utilizing these resources to celebrate school counselors in Arkansas!
