The following information is provided as an update to COM-19-003 (http://adecm.arkansas.gov/ViewApprovedMemo.aspx?Id=3675)
New Information
- Registration deadline is October 1st
- STEM Fest is free for all students, teachers, and chaperones
- Students can watch airshow aircraft arrive and rehearse, but airshow will not be open; some smaller aircraft will be in place within the STEM Fest area
- Meals will not be provided on site; schools must bring packed lunches
- Water will be available on site, but students should bring their own refillable bottles
- Expect 3 hours of continuous engagement per school
- Arrival & Departure times will be coordinated through ADE by district with further guidance, driving instructions, and safety information to be distributed via Commissioner’s Memo in October
- Event will be wheelchair accessible
- Teachers will be provided a list of exhibits and target grades in advance
- Event will have booming aircraft flying overhead, jet engines, flashing lights, and may be troubling to students with sensitivities
Homeschool Information
- Prior Registration is required thunderovertherock.com/stem
- Must be have a Homeschool Notice of Intent on-file with ADE
- Limit one adult per child
