Memo Text

The State Board of Education (SBE), at its June 2020 meeting, adopted the Praxis® Middle School: Science (5442) as the content assessment for Middle School Science (4-8) licensure.  The 5442 replaced the Praxis® Middle School: Science (5440) effective September 1, 2020.  Educational Testing Service updated the 5440 to reflect current National Science Teacher Association (NSTA) standards.

Also at its June meeting, the SBE adopted the Praxis® Geometry (5163) as the assessment for Geometry (7-12) licensure. Geometry is an endorsement licensure area added to a standard educator license.

For licensure questions, contact David Baca, Educator Licensure Program Coordinator, David.Baca@arkansas.gov.  For test questions, contact Michael Rowland, Educator Preparation Program Advisor, Michael.Rowland@arkansas.gov
